Trista believes that as our societies and organizations become more complex, our ability to thrive requires sophisticated skills for fostering personal courage, exploring diverse or controversial perspectives with curiosity, and initiating powerful conversations to address tension and conflict. She appreciates working with clients who are, like her, continuing to evolve and improve their own abilities in this complex (and sometimes chaotic!) world. Trista’s approach can be particularly transformational for clients at any level who want a breakthrough in their patterns of thought or behavior.

Leadership Coaching

An ICF-certified leadership coach, Trista coaches individuals, groups, and teams. She helps these clients explore and transform their stories, define and step into their personal leadership styles, and find the courage to directly address the tensions impacting their work.

Trista has a passion for coaching teams in tension or conflict to rebuild trust and develop more effective communication strategies for the future. And as a certified workplace mediator (through the Mediation Training Institute at Eckerd College), she offers individuals and teams processes to explore their disagreements and create new avenues out of conflict. She has developed and implemented unique methods to assess and shift team culture in struggling organizations.

Trista’s ability to structure powerful group experiences was instrumental in creating a group coaching approach that promotes individual insight in an environment of peer support. She enjoys the energy of working with groups in dynamic coaching sessions.

Training and Facilitation

Since her earliest professional work as a public high school teacher, Trista has championed unique learning experiences that open minds and generate action. After moving into industry, she developed a distinctive teaching and facilitation style that emphasizes high energy, active involvement, and a defined focus on outcomes. She continued her teaching career as an adjunct professor in the George Mason University Graduate School of Education for twelve semesters, helping novice instructional designers apply learning theory to their workplace training programs.

Trista’s practice includes a rich and varied toolset in leadership and organizational development. She is a Certified Dare to Lead™ and Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator; grounded in Brené Brown’s research, her sessions invite courageous leadership through embracing the challenges of vulnerability. She is also a trained Immunity to Change™ Facilitator, offering an approach to tackling personal changes resistant to past plans and intentions. To generate unexpected insights and encourage broad participation, she incorporates creative approaches into her facilitation, including Points of You™ tools and Lego® Serious Play®.

The enthusiasm Trista brings to her work is compelling, and her clients welcome the infusion of energy to help define, structure, and motivate their desired progress
