Leading through Change

Building on over 18 years of experience focused on strategy, organizational change management, leadership development, training and executive coaching, Monica brings to all of her work a deep understanding of leadership and organizational development. She has years of experience working with organizations, leaders, and managers on leading change, building strong relationships, creating high-functioning teams, enhancing leadership capacities, and working across organizational silos.

Clients describe Monica’s approach to consulting and coaching as intuitive, yet practical, which has allowed them to make lasting and positive changes. She ties coaching to practical, real changes going on in the organization and often uses 360 feedback tools to ground her coaching approach in desired outcomes for the individual, the team, and the organization as a whole. Monica works closely with clients to jointly develop goals, provide unbiased support, ask powerful questions to test client assumptions, and create accountability that will result in sustainable transformation and change.

Through consulting, coaching, and group facilitation she delivers tangible results in the areas of strategic thinking, leadership presence, communications skills, developing teams/staff, leading change, emotional intelligence, generational differences, working across silos and developing overall leadership skills.

Monica works with individuals and groups in organizations to enhance their effectiveness, realize greater efficiency, and develop increased capacities in leading people, leading change, and building relationships. Her clients in the private sector include Cable and Wireless, Cannon, Hanley Wood, IBM, Lucent, Marriott, and MedStar, and in the public sector The Partnership for Public Service, US Department of Homeland Security, US Department of Education, US Agency of International Development, US Department of Agriculture (ARS, NIFA, and NRCS), US Department of Defense, US Department of Energy, US Department of Health and Human Services (NIH, SAMHSA, ASFR, and ACL), NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the US Postal Service. Abroad she has worked with the Central Bank of Jordan and the Greater Amman Municipality.

Education and Credentials

Monica is a graduate of Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service and Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs. She is an PCC certified coach through the International Coaching Federation and is certified in the Myers Briggs assessment, the DISC assessment, the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL) 360 Assessment Suite, the LEI 360, the EQ-I 2.0 assessment, the Change Style Indicator, and the Healthy Leader Profile. She is a member of the ASBC, NAWBO, the Fairfax Chamber and has served on the board of the DC Chapter of the International Coaching Federation.
