Experience in Adapting to Change

Kenny Leahman is a specialist in leadership, team alignment and strategy. As an International Coach Federation (ICF) Professional Certified Coach (PCC), certified facilitator and educator, he offers 40 years’ leadership experience from 24 years as a CIA undercover officer, business executive and educator. Kenny is certified in the Wiley Catalyst DiSC® Suite; Five Behaviors of Cohesive Teams™; EQi 2.0; the Global Mindset Inventory (GMI); and the US Government OPM 360 assessment tool. He offers a unique dynamism and skillset derived from having re-invented himself every 2-3 years to adapt to new global locations, cultures, work environments (including combat zones), team and leadership paradigms.

A Lifetime of Doing What Matters

Kenny’s mantra is Discover, Decide and Do What Matters. He motivates and guides leaders, emerging leaders, and teams to achieve a “Mindset Reset” and adopt consequential change through tangible Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs). During his 19 years abroad, Kenny gleaned personal and professional expertise in Values-Based Living and Leading; Leading Through Chaos, Crisis & Change (VUCA); Team Behavior and Alignment; as well as Conflict Recognition and Resolution, and Competent Communication.

Kenny has coached hundreds of government and corporate leaders, and advised governmental and private entities in over 25 countries, including Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Moldova, Morocco, Myanmar, The Palestinian Authorities, Qatar and Yemen.

Wide International Experience

Kenny was the first senior CIA officer to volunteer, deploy and serve for two years at the height of the war in Afghanistan as Chief of a Forward Operating Base where he led a highly diverse multi-national team of 350+ individuals. Throughout his CIA career, he represented The Agency to US and Foreign Heads of State, Foreign Ministers of State, US Cabinet Officials and Members of Congress.

While serving in leadership positions in the Middle East, South Asia, Europe, and the US, he directed complex programs in partnership with multiple other US government agencies and more than 30 Foreign Security Services. Post-Afghanistan, Kenny was selected to be the lead HUMINT instructor at “The Farm” for the largest cadre of officer trainees in CIA history, and to help design and teach the FBI’s first-ever HUMINT training program. He concluded his government career as CIA Chief in the most respected Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) in the United States.
