About:

Carol Robert is a Leadership Coach, Organizational Culture Strategist and Instructor, certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Green Belt with over 25 years of experience in Executive Leadership, Strategy, Project, Program, and Operations Management and Intelligence Analysis. Having held executive leadership positions in operations, strategy and business winning, she understands the challenges inherent in balancing strategy with execution, high performance with efficiency and increased workload with personal needs.

Building Self-Awareness

Carol views ineffective behaviors and “blind spots” as defense mechanisms we can grow beyond, leading to a greater sense of self-worth, satisfaction, productivity and success. As a coach and facilitator, she therefore focuses on tools that build self-awareness and will enable you to continue your growth beyond the coaching engagement. She creates a safe environment to explore options, respecting your point of view, while challenging you to look beyond it. She is practical and realistic and translates “touchy-feely” concepts into accessible – and meaningful – action plans. Her coaching involves experiential assignments that push you out of your comfort zone into actively practicing new concepts and behaviors.

Carol has experience coaching senior leaders, and having worked as an executive, understands the drivers and challenges inherent in leadership at that level. She is skilled at working with leaders, teams and individuals moving through change, enabling leadership and intact teams to leverage their combined potential and empowering individuals to move beyond their barriers to growth in both work and personal lives. She also has experience facilitating growth for leaders and individuals seeking to move from a directive, top-down style to a more inclusive, facilitative style.

Deep Executive Experience

Carol has worked within the defense community for over 25 years, including time as an intelligence officer in the US Navy, as an intelligence analyst and executive in a large defense contracting company and as the owner and CEO of a Woman/Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business.

As a former executive with BAE Systems, Carol held positions including Senior Director of Strategy and Plans, leading strategy development for the 1500-person Global Analysis & Operations organization; Director, Geospatial Analysis, leading nearly 300 personnel supporting the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency; and Director, Infrastructure Analysis, leading over 125 personnel supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency. Having moved up through the ranks to executive positions, she understands the challenges of navigating the political environment, leading at different supervisory levels, having personnel located at remote sites, managing deployed personnel and maintaining organizational engagement of personnel embedded with another organization.

A Gifted Facilitator and Trainer

Carol provides one-on-one and group coaching, training and facilitation for government and corporate clients, developing extensive programs such as the highly selective, 4-week Defense Civilian Emerging Leaders Program (DCELP). She has facilitated Immunity to Change™ courses for over 800 personnel at all levels and in both leadership and non-leadership roles. She also facilitates Dare to Lead™, The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™, highly experiential courses (based on the work of Brené Brown) focused on building trust, courage, self-awareness and resilience.
